U.S. Hybrid Technology

US Hybrid has designed an Integrated Motor Drive for a fuel cell cathode air blower and water pump for United Technologies.

integrated motor drive system integrationThis unit allows the fuel cell power plant to start and operate using the same auxiliary motors for blower and pump. The transition of power from low voltage supply to high voltage supply is continuous and transparent to the motor drive unit. Both the high voltage and low voltage input have integrated soft charge functions. Each module has a dedicated enable control input signal, however all the three modules can be ganged in to one control signals. All the interface signals are opto-coupled. The unit is designed to meet 2500V isolation between the high voltages to chassis. The unit is totally assembled for OEM modular installation with liquid or air-cooling or it can be packaged independently.

DC-DC power conversion

US Hybrid provide a wide range of dc-dc power conversions for alternative fuel transportation and renewable energy industry. The isolated converters utilize phase shift, zero voltage switching converter topology to enhance efficiency and EMI/EMC. The isolated power converters input ranges from 12V to 450V and output current range up to 300A.

The non-isolated dc-dc converters utilize multi-phase power conversion to minimize the EMI/EMC, input/output filter size and enhance efficiency. The input voltage range from 14Vdc to 1000Vdc.

Motors and Controllers

US Hybrid provide high performance Permanent Magnet and Induction motor drives for Fuel cell auxiliary components, ultra-light duty personal transportation and medium duty commercial vehicles.

US Hybrid has experience and expertise in motor and drive design and manufacturing. The Digital Signal Processor based controller provides Vector torque control for both induction and permanent magnet motors. US Hybrid advanced control technique allow synchronous operation of both surface mount and interior mount permanent magnet motor utilizing only few low cost hall sensors. US Hybrid has a 200kW and 12kW Dynamometers with a 30,000 rpm high-speed test apparatuses. US Hybrid has expertise and experience in integrating various types of series and parallel hybrid drive systems for transit and commercial applications.

System Integration and Testing

US Hybrid has a 200kW and 12kW Dynamometers with a 30,000 rpm high-speed test blower and pump system test apparatuses. US Hybrid has expertise and experience in integrating various types of series and parallel hybrid drive systems for transit and commercial applications.

US Hybrid produces components and integrated in the vehicle for customer testing. Working with customer, US Hybrid is producing the high power density 3kW and 8kW Interior Permanent Magnet “IPM” and 18kW PM motor and controllers. The 8kW motor generator is also used in the hybrid engine, which is an integrated 375CC engine with 8kW hybrid motor/generator and a 3kW power take off power generation capability. The 18kW is used for an in-line parallel hybrid application with a 2.0 liters lean burn engines on 14 passenger van for international customer.
