Product Overview

Integrated Auxiliary Module “IAM” drive for Electric and Hybrid Commercial Vehicles. DC-DC converters and the motor controllers utilize advanced Digital Power Processing with high frequency magnetic design to provide efficient and high bandwidth dynamic response for voltage and current regulations with input and output voltage and current and power limits protections. Extensive diagnostics via CAN-J1939 and RS232.

200A, 28V dc-dc Converter with two 10 hp Induction, BLDC or PMSM motor drives with speed/torque and sensor less control scheme.

  • DC Input Voltage Range: 250-900Vdc
  • CAN command, control and diagnostics. Output voltage of the dc-dc and the motor speed or the hydraulic/air system pressure of each motor drive can be adjusted via CAN / Analog command. Input and output voltages, currents, power and temperature of each module along with the motor speed are reported via CAN.
  • Ground voltage isolation detection, reporting and protection.
  • Efficiency: 94% rated for motor drives and dc-dc converter.
  • Short Circuit, OC, O/U V and OT protection.

Integrated Motor Drive for Fuel Cell and Hybrid Vehicles

US Hybrid has designed the Integrated Motor Drive for the Fuel Cell Cathode Air blower and the water pump for United Technologies. This unit allows the fuel cell power plant to start and operate using the same auxiliary motors for blower and pump. Following is a top-level specification for the IMD unit:

The transition of power from Low voltage supply to high voltage supply is continuous and transparent to the motor drive unit. The unit is DSP based with CAN and RS232 diagnostics. The command input can be through analog voltage or current command interface or via CAN. Both the high voltage and low voltage input have integrated soft charge functions. The interface signals are opto-coupled and with 2500V isolation between the high voltages to chassis. The unit is totally assembled for OEM modular installation with liquid or air-cooling or it can be packaged independently.
